About four months ago, I was listening to a 702 literary talk show while navigating my way home in the Lagos traffic, and I heard Zukiswa Wanner reviewing some African fiction she had recently read. I was fascinated by the review of Sulaiman Adonia’s book.
From the Psychology of Social Media to Amazon’s Late Delivery
I am an impulsive book collector. When bored, I open the Amazon app on my phone. In a new city, I ask for recommendations to the best bookshops. In a bad mood, I take a long drive to one of my favourite bookshops in Lagos and splurge. In a known city, no visit is complete without a stopover at my favourites in that city. Buying and collecting come first. Reading comes a distant second. I wish I could help it.
Eat, Drink and buy books
The good fellows at Farafina had sent me a newsletter telling me about the new short stories collection they had just published. I was keen and tried ordering a few copies by email. The response was slow, so I gave up.
From the Mother City, with Love
A visit to the Mother City is never complete without a stopover at the always well-stocked Book Lounge.
